Professional Background: Angela has worked in customer service as a Barista at Starbucks Coffee Company since she was sixteen years old. Her years of experience working with the public, allows her to form positive, individual relationships with her students. Angela studied Kinesiology with a concentration in Fitness and Health Promotion at California State University Fullerton. Her educational background in muscle and movement anatomy gives her a clear knowledge of the human body and the importance of each muscle used while practicing a pole move. Physical activity is a daily lifestyle for Angela, and some of the sports she enjoys are running, biking, rock climbing, and weight training. She believes her passion for pole dancing is so strong because it is the perfect mix between dance and exercise.
Rethink Fitness: Growing up, Angela struggled with low self esteem and a distorted body image. Like so many other women, she felt a pressure to look a certain way in order to be considered beautiful. Pole dancing turned out to be a life changing hobby for Angela. Not only did it tone her body, but it also made her more comfortable and even proud of her body. Pole dancing gave her the self confidence she was missing all along. Along with teaching pole moves, Angela’s goal is to help other students who have been in her situation to find their self confidence and take pride in their own bodies.
